Venice, the city on waters. This was my second time visiting Venice. I spent a couple more nights than the previous visit about 10 years ago. This time I came back here for my honeymoon. What a majestic city. I surprised my husband with a photo shoot that came with the Gondola ride and a tour for around $300 on TripAdvisor. TripAdvisor is the best site to visit when you’re traveling overseas.

We went in September. Before Tevin had to start Optometry school.
I would suggest the free walking tours they have, but you must book ahead, they usually are booked out. The free walking tours give you a brief history of the city and also places where locals go. The city at one point boasts over 200,000 residents not it down to only 50,000. The cost to repair these beautiful buildings are too immense for the residents to manage, they sell and move out towards the mainland where there are more job opportunities other than tourism.

Tevin and I got really lucky with our photographer. She edited every single photo and sent us everything. We were only supposed to receive 50 edited photos, but she sent us all 100+ edited photos. Here are some of my favorite photos picked out.

Romance. A quality or feeling of mystery, excitement, and remoteness from everyday life.
Immersed in the surrounding, the smell of the salty air and the feeling of the fresh breeze blowing over our faces while we smile in pure happiness.

Rialto Fish Market in the evening. Early morning to noon is the hustle and bustle of the fish sellers and buyers.
The photographer brought us here in the evening where everything is washed and emptied. An empty fish market, just us two with our photographer guiding us on how to pose.

Our Gondolier was very charming. He always wanted to be a gondolier ever since he was young. Not having anyone in his family line as a gondolier made it harder for him to become one. Hearing his humbling upbringing made us so happy to have him on board with us. He took us to places where there were no tourists in sight. Average gondolier ride is around $80 per 30 mins. Always treat your gondolier nice, who knows where they will take you if you book it through your photographer on trip adviser the tour will be a lot more private.

Absolutely amazing how the sun sets, Tevin and I were able to enjoy our last evening in Venice. It’s an absolute must visit. Take a gondola ride privately with a tour guide
