Life’s Celebration

, , , , ,

Today marks a special day. It would’ve been my 3 year wedding anniversary with Tam (Tevin).

Our family has found a serene and peaceful resting place for our beloved Tam last weekend in St. Petersburg. If you would like to pay your respects, please message me and I will give you the address and directions to his resting place.

I finally feel at ease and brave enough to share this openly to our friends and family. It has been a little more than 5 months since Tam passed away. He battled stomach cancer for two years. Although it was an unfair fight, Tam has shown us grace and the light when there was darkness. Below is my first written Eulogy. We celebrated Tam’s life at the service. It was more beautiful than expected. My heart feels full again, I have given my all and know deep down inside he was there every step of the way. ❤️
🙏🏻. I posted a snippet of me singing to Tam towards the end of the song, his expression here is priceless. Always in my prayers.

Written Eulogy.

Eulogy for our Beloved Tam (Tevin )

To our beloved son, brother, husband, uncle, and friend.

Tam Huy Nguyen

We are gathered here today to bring Tam to his resting place, where the grasses are green, where there is shade and a bench for his love ones so that they can rest their feet and talk to Tam about today’s event.

Tam, it’s a place where we can have coffee with you. A place where you are not by yourself but amongst many beloved ones .. it will be a place where the family can join you, visit Chu Tam and tell their secrets to. A peaceful place. A fancy place I might add. We want to make sure your valuable life was done the right way. The proper way. The Lord will always be by your side, he is no longer looking after you, but as a brother or a sister at your side.

Tam wished for all of us to be better Christians, better human beings, as he has learned and yearned to be one towards the end of his life. He became a student of the Lord. His demeanor changed, he was more patient, kinder, less angry, and less impatient. He let go of all material things because, in the end, we are just skin and bones when it comes to being judged by God. Tam learned. He listened, and he changed. This is what I remembered toward the end of his life.

We missed him dearly. Tam, you are missed each and everyday.

Every time the song Perfect by Ed Sheeran comes on, I think of us dancing in the living room in Boston. How you would have dinner ready and I’m already so excited to eat it after work, even when the food was experimental, and alright, but your effort made my dinner taste better.

One thing about Chu Tam is how courageous he was to fight this battle. Even when he was extremely too tired to walk to his Wednesday’s infusion, where tears started flowing from his cheeks and didn’t want to go, he had the courage to go. Chu Tam was brave. Brave to let go of his dreams and endeavors. Brave to embark on this unknown journey of uncertainty. Brave to face the fact he only had weeks left and to leave his love ones behind.

When the Lord entered his heart, he found peace. He always said God has a plan for everything. I don’t question why things are the way they are, but we followed what God has planned for us. He was calling Chu Tam back to live in Paradise with him earlier than most. That way Chu Tam can have his unlimited heavenly buffet up there.

Thank you, Lord, for taking care of our Tam. Please keep him safe and happy. Thank you, Lord, for giving him life so that we can all rejoice in his presence, although short but so many memories in his brief time on Earth. Amen.

We love you Tam Nguyen.
