I’ve been absent from my blog due to months of remodeling and interior designing. I can now say.. I own a dental practice!
I placed my personal touch to all the rooms, decore, details.. and all the equipment. I built myself a dream office. I signed the lease this past February 2021. I took over an existing pedodontist office. Gutted it and redid everything. The floors, the walls, the furniture and equipment. The only thing I did not do is the layout of the office overall. It was a blessing.
I almost purchased an existing office already fully staffed and running, but the asking price would’ve been in the seven digits . It was already a producing office, but it was outdated. I would have had to wait on any remodel and just start working. I would’ve had to drive for an hour and a half to get to the office. I had to think long and hard. Do I need an office that is an hour and a half drive away or find an office nearby, then uproot and find a home near the office I was going to purchase.
My location, Sarasota Florida, there are no offices for sale. I discussed with my significant other and thought during Christmas break, because it was such a big investment. All my savings and all the loan money I have to borrow. Luckily for Covid, school loan repayment was on hold. It allowed me to save and to go to the banks to ask for a loan for an office. Boy was it tough. At the time, the larger banks were hesitant to loan out to new business, because of Covid and the unknown. So I went with a small banks.
I looked on loopnet.com. Great source if you are looking for a space to buy or lease. I looked and looked. And then this space came up. A dermatologist was also looking at the space, she requested the space first, but did not sign the lease yet, she got Covid and would sign after new years. I told the landlord, “I will take the space, please don’t give it to anyone, I will sign the lease.” I had to jump on the opportunity! The building below. I love it! My dream office. More updates and detail of the office. I will walk you through the remodelling of the office.
To be continued….
